Mia P. Fulks
Mia’s practice focuses primarily on defending medical providers and organizations in medical malpractice actions. Prior to joining Peters and Monyak, Mia practiced at a litigation boutique, where she represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in personal injury actions.
Mia, a native of Buffalo, New York, was raised in Decatur, Georgia after her family relocated to the Atlanta metro area when she was a child. She is a proud alumna of Southwest Dekalb High school. After high school, Mia attended Spelman College, graduating with a B.A. in English, with honors. After college, Mia attended the University of Virginia School of Law.
Post law school, Mia returned home to begin her legal career, which over the last two decades has found her practicing law in both the public and private sectors, doing both criminal and civil work, advocating for plaintiffs and defendants, and assisting state trial and federal appellate judges process their caseloads. Although she has practiced in several substantive areas of the law, her focus has always been litigation, which she enjoys. Mia attributes her well-roundedness as an attorney to the fact that her professional experience has been so varied. Mia joined Peters and Monyak, LLP, in March of 2024, and she looks forward to further honing her litigation and trial skills in the medical-malpractice arena.
Mia is an inquisitive and analytical person, who likes to get to the “heart of the matter.” She enjoys researching, investigating, writing, and learning new things, all of which she gets to do daily as a litigator. Mia is detail-oriented and firmly believes that in the practice of law, like in life in general, the details matter. She is a passionate advocate, who prides herself on having high ethical and professional standards, and in not taking herself too seriously. Mia enjoys mentoring and training younger attorneys and legal staff and helping them to grow professionally.
When she is not practicing law, Mia enjoys interior design, reading, live music, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her canine son. She is a proud member of member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
